Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen from the album “Various Positions” (1985)

In order to honor the resent passing of Leonard Cohen, I have decided to review one of his most popular songs. The piece is work of musical genius, and it fills the listener with raw emotion. Cohen’s gruff crooning is filled with passion, and gives off a very melancholy vibe. When the lyrics grab hold of you, you are transported into a world of sadness and bittersweet happiness. It is a very unique piece, and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Black by Pearl Jam from the album “Ten” 1991: What better way to bring back an old topic, than with a re-review of a fantastic song! Pearl Jam has always been one of my favorite Rock bands, and this is what I consider to be their “Magnum Opus”. It starts with a melodic guitar riff, and then Vedder’s vocals start up. He completely kills it on this piece, massaging the ears with gruff singing and emotional lyricism. The tempo of this song is absolute genius, starting slowly, and then gradually progressing into a powerful Rock ballad. The song has aged very well, and it is still a pleasure to listen to today. I absolutely recommend this piece to anybody, and I really hope that you will find it to be a real gem of a song. Happy Listening 😀 AND ROCK ON!!

Hello fellow followers! This is Asher with a special post. Last Friday, I saw a great Jamaican  movie called The Harder They Come. This film starred Jimmy Cliff, one of the first great Reggae artists. The movie helped bring Reggae to audiences worldwide. Cliff plays a poor Jamaican man named Ivanhoe Martin who is searching for a job. Martin has a love for music, and tries to land a record deal with the main producer in Kingston. As the film progresses, we see Ivanhoe’s journey into music, and the barriers along the way. Cliff unfortunately ends up with the wrong crowd, and this leaves him to a life of crime and corruption. The movie is well known for its fantastic soundtrack and immense success in Jamaica. The story was loosely based on a famous Jamaican criminal of the same name. I highly recommend this film to anybody who loves music, foreign films, and crime stories. I will be posting the main theme song at the bottom of the post. I would also love to hear what you think of this piece in the comments’ section below.

Asher’s Jukebox Part 169

Computer Guy by Savlonic from the album “Red” 2014: This is a very cool Electronic piece that fills the listener’s head with melodious energy. It starts with an old “Dial-Up” sound, and then Sarah’s vocals start up. They have a very mysterious tone, and are quite beautiful as well. The song is about a futuristic, tech-savy guy, and the mysteries that surround him. The music video of this piece is absolutely wonderful, and expertly animated. I highly recommend this song to anybody who likes Electronic music. Be warned! The chorus will be stuck in your head for a long time!

Asher’s Jukebox Part 166

Find Your Cloud by Papadosio from the album “T.E.T.I.O.S” 2012: This is an incredibly beautiful Ambient Electronic piece. It starts with a melodic sitar, accompanied by a snare drum. As the song lengthens, more instruments start to play, and you feel as if you’ve been transported into a mystical world. My absolute favorite part of the piece is the chorus, which is something you must hear to feel the full power of this epic. I highly recommend this song to anyone that loves to feel amazing.

Asher’s Jukebox Part 162

Hopes and Dreams by Toby Fox from the Undertale soundtrack

Undertale is one of my favorite video games of all time, and the score is absolutely fantastic! This happens to be one of my favorite tracks in the game. It’s filled to the brim with epicness, and will keep you coming back for more. It starts with a melodic violin, and then the drums start to play. The song then turns into an exceptional chip tune masterpiece. I highly recommend listening to this piece, but if you haven’t played the game yet, don’t read the comments!
