More Crazy SCPS (Every Other Wednesday This October)

Some readers may find this disturbing. Viewer discretion is advised!

Hello fellow researchers! It’s Wednesday, and you know what means! Yes, it’s time for us to take a look at some more terrifying SCPs. Now, grab your Class S protective equipment, and let’s begin!

  • SCP-1182 The Clockwork Octopus Object Class: Safe

Description: SCP-1182 is a small octopus sculpture approximately 171 mm in length and 76 mm in breadth, weighing 312 grams. It is constructed from a combination of wire, copper, and titanium alloy. The head of the octopus contains a clockwork contraption that serves no documented purpose. When held by a subject (who will henceforth be referred to as SCP-1182-1), SCP-1182 and SCP-1182-1 will become effectively invisible. SCP-1182 causes the subject to camouflage perfectly with their surroundings. The sculpture causes an as of yet unexplained reaction on SCP-1182-1’s pigmentation, giving it the properties of an octopus in disguise. This also means that the subject can only achieve full invisibility while naked, as the effect does not extend to clothing. The camouflage is distinctly much better than that of a common octopus, as SCP-1182-1 blends in to the point where it is impossible to distinguish their position. If SCP-1182 is released, the subject appears to “blink” back into existence. The last thing to note is the mental effect that the SCP has on the subject. When held, the SCP will give the subject to perceive the room as being filled with water. The effects only occur if SCP-1182 comes in contact with skin.

  • SCP-548 The Ice Spider Object Class: Euclid Description: SCP-548 is a female cobalt tarantula (Cyriopagopus lividus), 7.3 cm long. Its venom undergoes a highly endothermic reaction on contact with living tissue; a single bite, injecting less than 0.5 mL of venom, causes an average temperature drop of 38OC in the affected area. One bite is sufficient to cause localized frostbite in a human, and may even be lethal should the venom reach the central circulatory system. Victims smaller than SCP-548 are frequently frozen solid.  SCP-548’s feeding structures are normal for a spider of its species except for the maxillae, which are extremely hard and serrated. It feeds by delivering a venomous bite, then dragging the prey to a safe place while it cools. While secluded, it proceeds to grind the prey’s still-frozen tissue into edible fragments. This feeding style requires unusual mouthpart strength.

More Fascinating TV Tropes

Hello fellow Pop Culture Fans! It’s time for some more TV Tropes. I hope you guys are ready for some interesting references. Now, let’s begin!

  • Absurdly Ineffective Barricade: This trope is used quite frequently in many different forms of media. It occurs when a character tries to seal off a door or pathway using a very weak barricade. Some examples of this include The Matchstick Wall from Monty Python’s Flying Circus, The Shitty Wall from South Park, and too many times to count in Scooby-Doo.

ineff

  • Frothy Mugs of Water: This occurs when anime or Tv show wants to censor alcohol or drugs to make them seem more “family friendly”. Beer usually turns into water or tea, and cigarettes turn into lollypops. Examples of this include: Sanji’s cigarette being replaced by a lollypop, Replacing Rock Lee’s sake with Elixir, and Yu-Gi-Oh! turns wine into grape juice.

Crappy Video Game Art (Every Other Wednesday)

Hello fellow video game fans! It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means! Yes, it’s time for us to take a look at some more crappy art. Now, let’s begin!

  • Mystery of the Druids For The PC Release Date: September 14th, 2001 Rated M Developed by House of Tales Genre: Adventure

Mystery of the Druids is a buggy mess of a Point-and-click adventure game. The characters look like shit, and the game crashes quite often. It has gained infamy among the internet for having one of the worst covers in video game history. The cover depicts a supposed “druid” with an incredibly stupid expression on his face. I definitely don’t want to play it after seeing the cover.

  • Dr. Sudoku for the Game Boy Advance Released: August 26th, 2006 Rated E Published by 505 Games Genre: Puzzle

This is a very obscure GBA game with a pretty horrible cover. It features a Japanese man with a cartoony mouth. Various numbers are spewing out, and the title of the game is erupting out of his head.

The Craziest Music Video I’ve Ever Seen (Watch at your own risk!)

Pon Pon Pon by Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Released: July 16th, 2011 Genres: Electropop, dance-pop, J-pop Produced by Yasutaka Nakata

How to even start this review! If you think you’ve seen crazy videos, think again! This video appeared on Youtube in July of 2011, and quickly became a viral hit. It now stands at a whopping 138,793,808 views, and still continues to confuse and weird out people. I’m going to try to keep this as spoiler-free as possible, because you have to experience it blind. Let’s just say, it contains a bunch of random items, including multiple eyeballs. Sylvie Paula Paula, a character from King of Fighters, looks extremely similar to Kyary, and it might have been an influence on her creation. The song is also annoyingly catchy, so don’t blame me if it gets stuck in your head for weeks afterwards. Now, dive into the crazy world of Japanese music videos. I’d love to hear what you guys think of the video in the comments’ section below.
