Yokai Wednesdays

Konbanwa everyone! It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means! Yes, it’s time for us to take a look at some more fascinating Yokai. Now, let’s go on a journey to the “Land of the Rising Sun”!

  • Itsuki are highly dangerous creatures of Japanese folklore. They’re depicted as blue ghosts with ugly faces and dark hair. Itsuki are the ghosts of people that have committed suicide by hanging. They like to haunt people, and can easily drive them to suicide.



  • Shikome are ominous beings of Japanese mythology. They’re depicted as ugly women with blackened teeth, sagging breasts, and beast-like features. They spend their time trying to make themselves beautiful, but it’s usually useless. Shikome are also quite dangerous, and have tremendous leaping abilities.
