Hello fellow followers, and welcome to a new topic! Every month, I will be discussing one of my influences on creating this blog in the first place. Now, let’s get started with the blog, Thirsty Dudes.
Thirsty Dudes is a drink blog that was created in 2009 by Mike Literman, Jason Draper, and Derek Neuland. Each drink reviewer has a unique style, and the reviews range from text-based, to video. There are also many categories of drinks on the site, my favorite being Other/Weird, Energy Drinks, Jelly, and Chunky. The drinks are rated on a 1-5 bottle scale, with 1 being revolting, and 5 being sublime. I first came across the blog after trying a strange Bird’s Nest drink from Chinatown, and the rest is history! I highly recommend checking the blog out, and I’d love to hear your opinions on it in the comments’ section below.

Eco Atlasby Alex Grey (2017) Mediums: Spiritual and Psychedelic art
This impressive work was created by “Psychedelic Artist”, Alex Grey. Grey is incredibly popular in the music industry for providing art work for many album covers, including Lateralus (Tool), Untying the Not (The String Cheese Incident), and III Communication (The Beastie Boys). His work reminds me a bit of Larry Carlson’s but with its own unique twist. This specific painting absolutely blew me away when I first locked eyes upon in. It depicts a transparent humanoid with its rib cage, nerves, and brain visible. Grey adds heavy detail to each of these areas, which really makes it stand out. The humanoid is holding up what appears to be the Earth, and has a determined expression on its face. The Earth is anything but normal, as it’s covered with eyes that follow your every move. The work is covered in a very misty blue that gives it a mysterious vibe. I also adore the blend of realism with the Earth, and surrealism with the trippy designs. La lumiere, la solitude by Yves Tanguy (1940) oil on canvas
This is a beautiful work by “French Surrealist”, Tanguy. It depicts a gorgeous, rainbow sky with a multicolored ground. Placed on said ground are a variety of different sculptures. The sculptures all appear to be connected by a razor-thin wire, and some are shaped like pieces of candy. Tell me what you think of this piece in the comments’ section below.
Dream Catcher by Bassnectar & Gnar Gnar from the album Unlimited Released(June 17th, 2016) Genres: Electronic, dubstep, drum step, glitch, trip hop, and downtempo. Produced by Lorin Ashton under the label, Amorphous Music
What can I say about Bassnectar? He’s easily one of my favorite Electronic musicians of all time. My best friend introduced me to his music many years ago, and I’ve loved him ever since. The man’s real name is Lorin Ashton, and he has some of the most epic hair in music today. He’s extremely active on social media, as well, and is very kind to his fans, which are known as “Bassheads”. I got to see Lorin at the Electric Forest last year, and his concert blew me away. As his name suggests, his music is very bass heavy, and you can hear the pulse-pounding beat for miles. This particular song is one of my favorites off of the album, and I’ve listened to it countless times. It starts with a base-heavy beat that gradually amps up in volume. The beat continues to build up, and the sound gets intense. It does this for about a minute, and then the drop happens. Our ears are met with an incredibly intense beat and epic synthesizer. I highly recommend this piece to anyone who loves intense Electronic music. Tell me what you think of this piece in the comments’ section below.
