Asher’s Art Gallery (Mondays)

Hello fellow art lovers! It’s Monday, and my Art Gallery is open once again! I hope you guys are ready for some great works. Now, have fun exploring my Gallery!

  • Olympic by Jean-Michel Basquait  1982-83 Part of the Daros Suite of Thirty-two Drawings Acrylic, oil paintstick, pastel, crayon, charcoal, and pencil on paper

This is a fantastic piece by “Master Surrealist”, Basquiat. It is a cornucopia of strange shapes and beautiful colors. We see many of Basquait’s traditional quirks like crowns, repeated words, and demonic faces. The colors really suck the viewer into the piece, and give it a mysterious vibe. Tell me what you think of this work in the comments’ section below.

  • Plagiary by Rene Magritte 1940 Oil on canvas

This is a gorgeous work by “Belgian Surrealist”, Magritte. We see what appears to be a shattered flower pot. Instead of shattering on the ground, it breaks the fourth wall of the painting. The background is revealed, and we are met with an amazingly lovely field of flowers. The Cherry Blossom Tree situated in the center of the work really brings the entire painting together. Tell me what you think of this work in the comments’ section below.
