  • To Be Titled by Jean-Michel Basquiat 1987 Acrylic and oil paintstick on canvas

This is a very unique piece by the “Late and Great”, Basquiat. The work is a multicolored collage of repeated words and strange figures. We also see Jean’s depiction of DC’s superhero, Hawkman. The strangest part of the painting is the “dead” head of the Cornflakes bird. The piece is a simple, yet complex work of Abstract Art. It’s time for our weekly Carlson post! This week, we have a mind-blowing  epic with trippy mandalas and flying saucers. It is an explosion of vibrant colors and designs. Hello fellow Mixologists! It’s Thursday, and my Pub is open once again! I hope you guys are ready for some fascinating drinks. Now, let me fix you up something special!

  • Diamond Dust (Final Fantasy Cocktail) (drink created by scrollbar.dk)

Ingredients

  • 3 cl Smirnoff Green Apple Twist
  • 2 cl White Rum
  • Sprite

Directions: Fill a cocktail glass half full of crushed ice. Shake first two ingredients and strain into a cocktail glass. Top with sprite

  • Tropical Life Saver Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 3/4 oz Midori®melon liqueur 
  • 3/4 oz Malibu®coconut rum
  • fill with pineapple juice

Directions: Fill glass with ice. Then add the Malibu and Midori. Then fill the remainder of the glass up with Pineapple Juice. Shake and enjoy!

  • Kakuran no mushi is a highly disgusting creature of Japanese mythology. It has a red body and a black head. It also has the facial expression of a person who is about to vomit. It is said to live in the stomach, and can cause horrific bouts of vomiting and diarrhea. The sickness can be cured by ingesting a medicine called goshuyu.

  • Big Wheel Real Name: Jackson Weele Status: Villain Creator: Marvel First Appeared: Amazing Spider-Man #182 (1978) Powers/Weapons: Mechanical arms, thundering metal wheel with molybdenum steel treads, spinning outer shell that protects Jackson from attack.

Jackson Weele was a unhinged businessman that acquired a strange, wheel-shaped device. Unfortunately, he stupidly forgot to figure out the controls. He then crashed into the Hudson River when trying to kill Rocket Racer.

  • Shrunken Bones Real Name: Jerold Morgan Status: Villain Creator: Marvel First Appeared: World of Fantasy #11 (1958) Powers/Weapons: Various gadgets, high intellect

Jerry Morgan was a scientist that tried to replicate Ant Man’s super powers. Unfortunately, the experiment went wrong, and shrunk his bones. He joined the strange villain group, the Headmen. He has fought against The Defenders many times.

This is a very cool piece by “Computer Guru”, Larry Carlson. It’s a painting of a woman that’s surrounded by a flaming red and yellow background. Her face is a hypnotic tunnel of repeated squares that brings the viewer into a trance. I adore the blend of realistic and abstract art. This is a very unique collage by “Trippy Surrealist”, Larry Carlson. It’s another space scene with rainbow stars and tiny satellites. There’s also a very strange green-eyed humanoid with two faces. Hello fellow mixologists! It’s Thursday, and my Pub is open once again! I hope you guys are ready for some cool drinks, Now, let me fix you up something special!

  • The Joining (Dragon Age: Origins Cocktail) (Drink created by Heather)

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cl Hpnotiq
  • 1.5 cl Dark rum
  • Splash of 151 rum (to taste)

Directions: Layer the ingredients in a shot glass using the spoon, with the Hpnotiq on the bottom, dark rum in the middle, and 151 rum on the top.

  • Gentle Bull Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz white tequila
  • 3/4 oz Kailua®coffee liqueur
  • 1 tbsp cream

Directions: Shake ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into an old-fashioned glass.
