Asher’s Food Journey In Ojai

Hi everyone! I’m finally back from my vacation in Ojai, and boy was it fun! I stayed at the beautiful Ojai Inn, and I ate some pretty amazing food. I also went on a food tour, and that’s what this post is going to be about. Now, join me on this fantastic food journey! Also, this will be the first time I show my face on this blog, so be ready for that!

  • The first place I went to was a Mexican restaurant called La Fuente. The restaurant’s specialty was Tamales, and I got to try three different types. There was a sweet corn tamale, that reminded me of a sweet and grainy cornbread. The second type was chile and cheese, which melts in your mouth, and has a very awesomely spicy aftertaste. The last tamale was filled with pork, and had an extremely unique and savory taste. Shown below is the restaurant and the tamales.

  • The next stop on our food adventure is the Ojai Tortilla House. It is home to some of the most delicious tacos I have ever had. The most popular item on the menu was the “Street Taco”. It is a tortilla filled with steak, cilantro, onions, and salsa. Be warned! The taco is very messy, however, it is wonderfully flavored, and none of the ingredients overpower each other. Below is said taco, as well as my face.

  • It is time to cool off, and luckily our next stop is the Ojai Ice Cream Company. Each of the Ice Creams were homemade, and they also had fudge! I decided to get a Rum Raisin Ice Cream Cone, and it completely blew me away! The rich and creamy texture of the dessert was an absolute pleasure, and it is definitely the best Rum Raisin I have ever had. The Rum flavor was both strong and delicate, while the raisins ended the taste with a sweet finish. Below is the amazing ice cream, can’t you just smell this deliciousness!

  • The final stop on our journey is a bakery called The KNEAD baking company. The interior of the bakery had an amazing smell of baked goods, and it nearly made my mouth water! The best thing I tried was a “potato pizza” that was covered in rosemary and cheese. I hope you enjoyed the journey, and I will see you guys back for tomorrows’ art post. Have a great day!
