Asher’s Movie Reviews (Tuesdays)

Hello fellow viewers, and welcome to Tuesday’s new topic! Starting from today, I will be reviewing one movie each week. I would love to expand the blog, and I would enjoy hearing feedback and new film suggestions in the comment’s section below. Now, grab some popcorn, and let’s begin!

Chef by Jon Favreau 2014 Running time: 1 Hr. 55 Mins. Rated: R Genre: Comedy

Review: What better way to start off this new topic, then with a tasty treat. This is definitely one of the most delicious looking films I have ever seen. The movie tells the story of an incredible chef named Carl Casper, played by Favreau. During an altercation with his boss, Carl decides to quit his job, and repair his dysfunctional family. His resent divorce with Sofia Vergara has put Casper in a difficult relationship with his son. Throughout the film, the father and son begin to bond over food. This eventually leads Carl and his best friend, played by John Leguizamo,to buy a food truck. The rest of the movie focuses on the new food truck business, and Casper’s relationship with his son. I am not going to spoil the ending, but it will definitely leave you smiling. The various dishes in the film could be classified as “food porn”, meaning that they have an alluring presence that is almost erotic. The camera work on these dishes is top notch, and will have you taste buds going wild. This is a very beautiful and emotional work of art, that is easy for anyone to enjoy. The acting is spot on, and the pacing is at a perfect speed. The use of technology in the movie is also a very unique poke at modern day society. I highly recommend this film to absolutely everyone, but be sure to grab a snack before watching it!

Final Verdict: 9.9/10 (Excellent Movie! Watch this one ASAP!)

I would love to hear your thoughts on the film, and what I should review in the future in the comment’s section below.
