Asher’s Art Gallery (Mondays)

Hello fellow art lovers! It’s Monday, and my art gallery is open once again! I hope you guys are ready for some dynamic works. Now, enter the amazing world of art!

  • Garden-Aeroplane-Trap by Max Ernst 1935 Oil on canvas: This is a very colorful work with wonderful strokes of Surrealism. We see what appears to be a 3D table with a giant “plane”in the center. The piece is also covered in gorgeous flowers, which  look like they came right out of science fiction. I believe the piece to be quite visceral, as well, due to the organ shaped objects that surround the work. Tell me what you think of this piece in the comment’s section below.

  • Hallowtide by Larry Carlson 2011: Here we have another wonderful piece by the “Computer Guru”, Larry Carlson. This is a “nature work” that completely defies all logic. The sky is sublime and covered in vibrant blues and pinks. We also see a multicolored woman with an astronomical amount of masks. I love that this piece adds themes of mythology as seen by an abstract depiction of Ziz the great falcon. There is also some direct nods to Magritte, that’s portrayed through the large set of pipes. One of the most bizarre objects in the work is a building that ignores the rules of physics. I absolutely adore this piece, and would to hear what you guys think about it in the comment’s section below.
