Hello fellow art lovers! It’s Monday, and my gallery is open once again. I hope you guys are ready for some more interesting pieces. Now, have fun exploring the gallery!
- Cabeza by Jean-Michel Basquiat 1982 Acrylic and oil paintstick on blanket with exposed wood supports and twine: This is a very interesting work by the late and great Basquiat. The painting depicts a one-armed, male figure with gritted yellow teeth. He is surrounded by a golden yellow background, and also appears to have no ears. His disturbing expression could suggest that he is in a great deal of pain. Part of his intestines are also visible, along with the letters “AOPKNES”. The man’s face is outlined in red, and also appears to be balding. I’d love to hear what you guys think about this piece in the comment’s section below.
- Untitled by Larry Carlson 2015 Digital Photography info about work found on Larry Carlson’s website larrycarlson.com: This is a gorgeous piece by the “Computer Guru”, Larry Carlson. In this piece we see a huge woman with cosmic hair and a piercing gaze. Her body is multicolored, and reminds me of licorice. The shining eyes suggest to me that she has immense power, and is very similar to a god. Tell me what you think of this piece in the comment’s section below.
