Asher’s Art Gallery (Mondays)

Hello fellow art lovers! It’s Monday, and my art gallery is open once again! I hope you guys are ready for some new pieces. Now, have fun exploring the gallery!

  • All Colored Cast (Part II) by Jean-Michel Basquiat 1982 Acrylic and oil paintstick on canvas

This is another amazingly unique piece by the late and great Basquiat. It has many of his traditional watermarks including; crowns, random text, and a mask like face. The figure in the work looks much more human than usual, and appears to yelling about something. I also throughly enjoy the brilliant use of color in the painting. I would love to hear what you think of this piece, so be sure to leave a comment in the comment’s section below.

  • Weetigo by Larry Carlson 2012 mixed media

Here we have another amazing piece by the “Computer Guru”, Larry Carlson. This work has a very cosmic feel, due to the space-like background and multiple stars. The creatures in the piece are also quite abstract, ranging from a feline-human hybrid, to a skeletal disembodied head. It’s equal parts weird and awesome. I’d love to hear what you guys think of the piece, so be sure to leave a comment in the comment’s section below.

LARRY CARLSON, Weetigo, c-print, 44 x 33in., 2012.
