Konichiwa everyone! It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means! Yes, it’s time to take a look at some more interesting yokai. Now, let’s go on a journey to “The Land of the Rising Sun”!

  • Brush! Hahakigami are extremely bizarre creatures of Japanese folklore. They’re basically sentient brooms that love to sweep up broken leaves. In olden times, brooms were considered to be holy instruments that were used in ritual purification ceremonies. These spirits are used as magic charms for a safe childbirth.



  • Chochin obake are funny creatures of Japanese mythology. They’re created from old lanterns, and are depicted as paper dragons. They love to scare people, and don’t cause any physical harm.
