Hello fellow art lovers! It’s Monday, and my gallery is open once again! I hope you guys are ready for some interesting pieces. Now, prepare to have your minds blown!
- King Brand by Jean- Michel Basquiat from the Daros Suite of Thirty-two drawings 1982-83 Acrylic, oil paintstick, pastel, crayon, charcoal, and pencil on paper: This is one of Basquiat’s more bizarre pieces. It has many of the traditional elements usually found in his works, which include; repeated words, crowns, and copyright signs. It’s also quite colorful, and creates a strange feeling to the audience. The left part of the piece seems to have a bizarre list of ingredients for some sort of beef product. We also see a disembodied heart, foot, and brain. The overall ridiculousness and humorous aspects of the piece make it one wonderful work of art. I’d love to hear what you guys think of this piece in the comment’s section below.
- Forever Summer by Larry Carlson 2014: This has got to be one of Carlson’s most trippy creations! It’s as always, filled to the brim with wonderful colors and psychedelic shapes. The main focus is the tree in the center of the piece. It’s in full bloom, exploding with vibrant “leaves” and spectacular color. I love the beauty of this piece, and it has an almost cosmic power pulsating from it. The background is equally crazy, and appears to pull the viewer in. I’d love to hear what you guys think of this piece in the comment’s section below.
