More of My Favorite Art Works (Mondays)

Hello fellow art lovers! It’s Monday, and you know what that means! Yes, it’s time for me to share with you some of my favorite art works. I hope you guys are ready for an interesting post. Now, grab a paintbrush, and let’s get started!

  • Mitchell Crew 1983 by Jean-Michel Basquiat Acrylic, oil paintstick, and paper collage on canvas with exposed wood supports and metal chain, three panels: Ah yes, another great art piece by the fantastic Basquiat. This one, like most of his works, is divided into 3 panels. The first panel is very colorful, and has a baby blue background. It also has some various words and symbols strewn across the panel. The second panel has Basquiat’s signature “faces”, and each of them appear to be smiling. The last panel has one giant face, random words, and various objects.

  • Blind Swimmer: the Effect of Contact by Max Ernst 1934 Oil on canvas: This painting is incredibly beautiful, and very unique. It reminds me of a Georgia O’ Keefe flower painting, due to the vulva-shaped panels. The painting has a red striped background that is almost like an optical illusion. It leaves you both mesmerized and in awe. I hope that you guys will enjoy this piece as much as I do, and be sure to tell me what you think about it in the comments section below.
