Hello fellow art lovers! It’s Monday, and you know what that means! Yes, it’s time to take another look at some of my favorite art pieces. I hope you guys are ready for some truly awesome pieces. So grab a paintbrush, and let’s begin!
- On the Threshold of Freedom by Rene Magritte 1930 Oil on canvas (info about materials from en.wikipedia.org) I hope you guys are ready for a n absolutely fantastic work of art! This piece is incredibly interesting, and I love it to death! The image depicts a black cannon that’s surrounded by 8 squares. Each of these squares has an image on them. The images include, a nude female figure, a forest, wood panels, a cloudy sky, weird spherical objects, a row of windows, a fire, and a grate with random shapes. It’s truly a sight to behold, and I recommend this painting to everyone who likes strange and wonderful art pieces.
- Horn Players by Jean-Michel Basquiat 1983 Acrylic and oil paintstick on canvas mounted on wood supports, three panels: Here we have one of Basquiat’s most famous works. It’s both extremely cool, and very surreal. The piece is divided in 3 separate columns with very unique images on each one.The leftmost column depicts a horn player, along with some random words like soap, and ear. The middle column depicts another famous “head” with repeated words in the background. The rightmost column depicts another horn play with the repeated words alchemy, and ornithology in the background. I’d love to hear what you guys think about these pieces, so be sure to tell me your thoughts in the comments section below.
