Hello everyone, and welcome to a very special post! I’m going to show a bunch of pictures from my trip to China, and discuss each one. I hope you guys will enjoy it, and be sure to leave some comments in the comments’ section below. Now, let’s begin!
This is outside the Forbidden Temple in Tianamen Square in Beijing. It was raining like crazy, and the streets were a rainbow display of raincoats and umbrellas.
A much better picture of the front with emphasis on Chairman Mao.
This is a picture of a Foo Dog, a guardian of the Forbidden Temple.
This is a shot of the inside of the temple, as you can see, tons of people are gathered here to see the amazing art.
A beautiful picture of a ground painting that seems to depict an action scene with tons of dragons.
This is a Genbu, an ancient mythological creature with the head of a dragon and the body of a turtle.
Hello fellow video game fans! It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means! Yes, it’s time for us to take a look at some more crappy art. Now, let’s begin!
Mystery of the Druids For The PC Release Date: September 14th, 2001 Rated M Developed by House of Tales Genre: Adventure
Mystery of the Druids is a buggy mess of a Point-and-click adventure game. The characters look like shit, and the game crashes quite often. It has gained infamy among the internet for having one of the worst covers in video game history. The cover depicts a supposed “druid” with an incredibly stupid expression on his face. I definitely don’t want to play it after seeing the cover.
Dr. Sudoku for the Game Boy Advance Released: August 26th, 2006 Rated E Published by 505 Games Genre: Puzzle
This is a very obscure GBA game with a pretty horrible cover. It features a Japanese man with a cartoony mouth. Various numbers are spewing out, and the title of the game is erupting out of his head.
Hello fellow comic book fans! It’s Tuesday, and you know what that means! Yes, it’s time for us to take a look at some more crazy characters. Now, let’s begin!
Powderkeg Real Name: Frank Skorina Status: Prisoner First Appeared: Captain Marvel #1 (December 1995) Creator: Marvel Powers/Abilities: Superhuman strength and durability, can secrete nitroglycerin through his sweat glands, which causes explosions when he claps his hands.
Frank’s backstory is quite murky, but we know that he used to belong to a terrorist group. He hijacked a cargo ship that happened to be carrying Monica Rambeau, a mutant with the power to control the electromagnetic spectrum. She knocks out Frank, and he’s apprehended by the authorities. He now frequents the villainous Bar With No Name.
Chester Goudal Status: Failed vampire hunter (Deceased) First Appeared: Punisher: P.O.V. #1 (1991) Powers/Abilities: Above average strength and size, vampire killing weapons. Creator: Marvel
Chester was a certified madman that believed that the people around him were horrific beings. He sought out to kill a certain vampire, but ended up getting into a fight with the Punisher instead. That didn’t last long, and he met his end in front of a subway.
Hello fellow art lovers! It’s Monday, and you know what that means! Yes, it’s time for us to take a look at some more trippy art. Now, let’s begin!
Black Hole Priestess by Larry Carlson Pigment print on paper
This is an awesome work by “Master Surrealist”, Larry Carlson. It is an incredible blend of Realism and his signature surrealist tricks. The “priestess”, in question, is wearing a flower headdress and a black robe. Her face, however, is an endless stream of sequential circles that seem to be sucking objects in. It is a very unique piece that I hope you all enjoy. Tell me what you think of it in the comments’ section below.
Sun Drips by Larry Carlson Pigment print on metallic paper
This is a lovely work by “Computer Guru”, Larry Carlson. It looks like something that you could find on a stain glass window. The painting depicts multicolored squares that pull the viewer inside. I especially adore the neon colors near the middle of the painting. Tell me what you think of this work in the comments’ section below.
Hello fellow media lovers! It’s Saturday, and you know what that means! Yes, it’s time for us to take a look at some more TV Tropes. Now, let’s begin!
Getting Crap Past The Radar: This is one of my favorite, and most well-known tropes on the site. It occurs whenever a form of media puts something scandalous, or flat-out inappropriate into an otherwise family friendly TV show. It’s amazing at how many instances of this occur on TV, so I’ll give a few examples; The Yu-Gi-Oh! card Dark Necrofear was called Dark Necrophilia in the Japanese Anime, Megaman Battle Network 2 has a character asking you to “suck yo mama’s milk”, and the game is still rated E!, and,Plankton from SpongeBob attempts suicide in the episode “One Course Meal”.
SNK Boss: This infuriating trope occurs in many great SNK fighting games, and others like King of Fighters, Marvel VS. Capcom, and The Battle Network Series. Many things cause a boss to rise to this level such as; Overpowered attacks, Cheating system limitations, or Rage-Inducing defense. Some examples of these bosses include; Goenitz from King of Fighters 96 (He can spam a wind barrier attack that blocks everything and hits super hard), Gil from Street Fighter 3rd Strike (His attacks hit extremely hard, and he can recover his health fully if he has meter), and BassXX from Megaman Battle Network 5 Double Team DS (He has 4,000 HP, a constantly regenerating aura, moves ridiculously fast, and his attacks can do up to 700 Dmg!)
Hello fellow Duelists! It’s Friday, and you know what that means! Yes, it’s time for us to take a look at some more crazy cards. Now, let’s duel!
Flame Ogre Type: Fiend/Effect Attribute: Fire 7 Stars Appearance: A red ogre with bulging muscles and green eyes. ATK/ 2400 DEF/ 1700 Effect: This card cannot be Special Summoned. When this card is Normal Summoned, draw 1 card.
For something that looks so awesome its effect sure sucks! First, its stats are terrible for a 2 Tribute monster. Second, not being able to Special Summon it limits its playability. The only good thing about this card is its draw ability, and still there are many eras cards that are much better than this.
Swordsman From A Distant Land Type: Warrior/Effect 1 star Appearance: A strange samurai with bright yellow eyes. ATK/ 250 DEF/ 250 Effect: If this card attacked an opponent’s monster, after damage calculation: Destroy that monster during the 5th End Phase after the attack.
Wow, this card is garbage. Its stats are completelyabysmal, and the death after five turns is way too long. The monster will probably be tributed or XYZ summoned before the effect goes off anyway. I don’t recommend play it at all.
